Darin Brown and Geoffroy Bauer join High Alpha to develop and launch new High Alpha companies
INDIANAPOLIS — November 19, 2018 — High Alpha, a leading venture studio, announced today that Darin Brown and Geoffroy Bauer have joined the company as entrepreneurs in residence (EIR).
“Entrepreneurs are the lifeblood of our business, which is why we have invested heavily in building a robust EIR program to seed our future companies with proven leaders. We want High Alpha to be the global epicenter for enterprise cloud talent,” said Eric Tobias, a partner at High Alpha. “We’re thrilled to be adding two more incredible entrepreneurs to our EIR program who will help us build, launch and lead the next wave of High Alpha Studio companies.”
Brown is an enterprise cloud technology veteran who most recently served as Chief Technology Officer at Angie’s List (NASDAQ: ANGI). Prior to Angie’s List, Brown spent five years at ExactTarget in various leadership roles, including vice president of the Interactive Marketing Hub. Brown has more than 20 years of experience in enterprise software, consumer search and decision analytics and was named Indianapolis’ CTO of the Year in 2016 by the Indianapolis Business Journal.
“I had the honor of working with the High Alpha partners and many of the portfolio leaders over the years, and their collective experience in building enterprise SaaS companies and attracting high-caliber talent is unparalleled,” said Brown. “I’ve spent the bulk of my career in startups and high-growth companies and look forward to rejoining that world and working alongside High Alpha to create something exciting and new.”
Bauer has over 20 years of experience building and leading enterprise cloud and e-commerce companies based in Europe. He previously co-founded Transwide, a cloud-based transportation hub which sold to Wolters Kluwer Group in 2005, and Snapstore, a fashion and design online flash sale club which sold to Vente-Exclusive.com in 2015.
“Since my move to Indianapolis, I have witnessed first-hand the energy, collaboration and ‘dreaming big’ spirit of local entrepreneurs and the Indy tech ecosystem,” said Bauer. “I have seen up close how the amazing team at High Alpha nurtures and supports this energy. Their studio model helps new companies move incredibly fast and make a lasting impact, and I’m thrilled to be joining the team.”
As entrepreneurs in residence, Brown and Bauer will work together with High Alpha to develop and launch new companies. This announcement follows the recent launch of Anvl out of High Alpha Studio. Anvl is a workforce safety software led by CEO Robin Fleming who joined High Alpha as an entrepreneur in residence in early 2018.
