High Alpha and Appirio enter a strategic partnership to develop next-generation enterprise cloud software

Indianapolis, IN – February 9, 2016 – High Alpha, an Indianapolis-based venture studio, announced today that it has entered a strategic partnership with Appirio, a leading global cloud services company. The agreement provides High Alpha with the ability to uniquely leverage Appirio’s deep services capabilities, cloud expertise, and Topcoder crowdsourcing community in order to help speed the development of next-generation enterprise cloud companies. Likewise, Appirio will have the opportunity to align their team with innovative entrepreneurs tackling big challenges, while providing services in partnership with High Alpha companies.

Today's cloud companies are facing different problems that require new solutions and delivery models. The partnership addresses this need by combining the two companies' unique expertise to empower the enterprise with innovative results and fast integration methods.

“High Alpha’s business approach combines entrepreneurial support plus a venture capital component, allowing businesses to grow and scale at a rapid pace,” says Steve Pruden, Vice President at Appirio. "This environment will allow our Topcoder community to work on engaging projects, and will increase demand for crowdsourced software development. And, our free-thinking consultants will remain relevant by working with some of the most entrepreneurial minds in the business."

High Alpha and Appirio have already begun working together to build one of High Alpha’s newest portfolio companies, which will be announced later this year. The unlaunched enterprise cloud company will be utilizing the Topcoder platform to build the initial minimum viable product (MVP). Steve Pruden will also join the new company’s board of directors. The companies plan for this partnership to serve as a model for future collaborations between Appirio and High Alpha.

“High Alpha is built for speed and we are constantly looking for opportunities to establish competitive advantage,” commented Scott Dorsey, Managing Partner at High Alpha. “Our strategic partnership with Appirio will enable us to move even faster by leveraging their team’s exceptional cloud services expertise and vast Topcoder development community. We are thrilled to be working with Steve and the Appirio team to build innovative, next-generation enterprise cloud companies.”
