Shaker provides real estate teams with a platform to better engage clients and streamline the transaction process

INDIANAPOLIS — November 17, 2020 — Shaker, (formerly Clerestory) the collaborative CRM and transaction management platform built exclusively for real estate teams, announced its launch today to provide a better experience for homebuyers. Using the first unified transaction manager and contact management platform in the space, Shaker is bringing the customer to the center of the transaction process while giving agents a streamlined transaction management platform.  

Shaker is led by co-founder and chief executive Chris Lucas. Lucas, a marketing and startup veteran who joined High Alpha as an entrepreneur in residence in 2019, previously led marketing and business development at Indianapolis-based Formstack, North Carolina-based SignUpGenius, and Indianapolis-based BLASTmedia. The co-founding team is also comprised of former Formstack colleagues and software veterans Ashley Walsh and Michael Mattax

“Even in today’s highly digital world, real estate software, and especially software built for teams, is still antiquated and clunky. We set out to provide a full transaction and client management platform that competes with the best services across other industries,” says Lucas. “In our survey, 68% of clients said that lack of communication and transparency in the transaction process was the most frustrating part of buying and selling a home. We want to empower real estate teams and agents to showcase the hard work that goes into closing a real estate transaction and support a great client experience, creating a life-long client and referrer.”

Since 2014, the rise of agent teams has slowly become a fixture of the industry. According to a 2019 survey from Inman, 41% of real estate professionals are part of a team. Of the remaining that are not, 60% said they would consider joining one or creating one of their own.  Real estate teams have a more complex transaction experience, oftentimes, involving 3 or more people. Creating a system that works across a team and brings in the client, vendors, and others involved allows teams to close more deals and increase client experience, thus creating a better referral network.
