Former GovDelivery CEO, Scott Burns, and Industry Veteran, Chip House, co-found Structural alongside Leading Venture Studio High Alpha

ST. PAUL, Minn. — (May 9, 2017) — Structural, today announced its public launch as a company and introduced its Employee Success Management platform that allows organizations to unleash the full potential of people and teams. The platform has been built and tested with initial customers by Indianapolis-based High Alpha, the leading enterprise cloud venture studio. Based on Structural’s success with initial customers, industry veterans Scott Burns and Chip House have joined to co-found the company which will have offices in St. Paul, Minnesota and Indianapolis, Indiana.

Burns, an accomplished software entrepreneur, is the CEO and co-founder of Structural. He is the former CEO and co-founder of St. Paul-based GovDelivery, which sold to Vista Equity Partners for $153 million and merged with Granicus in 2016. House is Structural’s co-founder and CMO. He was the former CMO at Minneapolis-based Four51, and prior to that he was the 6th employee and built the marketing organization at Software-as-a-Service leader ExactTarget where he stayed for over 13 years. ExactTarget was acquired by Salesforce for $2.5 Billion in 2013.

“I know first-hand that leaders today face profound challenges as they work to build world class teams,” said Burns. “A recent study by PWC shows that a shocking ⅓ of workers expect to be at a different job in the next 6 months and 67% of younger workers feel they do not have an opportunity to do what they do best at work.”

With Structural, company leaders can find and nurture talent within their organization, maximize team effectiveness, and leverage their current HR systems to create new value and growth. “When people and teams are more connected and realize their full potential, they bring more passion to work, solve problems faster, and accelerate growth,” added Burns.

Early customers include large professional service providers, leading law firms, specialized staffing agencies, and other firms across many industries. Thousands of their employees are using Structural’s platform via their mobile devices, helping them highlight their skills, provide feedback, and build deeper connections with their co-workers.

“As we grew rapidly to over 400 employees in 23 different markets, it was tough for us to keep the vibrant culture that makes our growth possible,” said Carlie Oakley, Vice President of Brand Excellence at Brooksource. “Structural has helped us extend our tight-knit culture as we scale and grow the employee base. It’s the place we house all the data I used to have in my head when we were a small company. The Structural mobile platform enables our employees nationwide to collaborate and continue to foster growth, opportunity and success.”

“When we were growing ExactTarget from a small startup to a global enterprise with over 2,000 employees, we worked hard to build a connected, results-oriented culture,” said Scott Dorsey, the former CEO and co-founder of ExactTarget and now the managing partner of High Alpha. “Structural builds on what we learned and uses mobile technology to help employees stay connected and reach their full potential. We are thrilled to have Scott and Chip leading Structural and bringing this technology to progressive workers and leaders everywhere.”
